As grippy as ferro-carbon pads are, one set of rotors can easily last through two sets of these specially blended pads. If you install them without replacing rotors, pre-chamfered pad edges will mate well against grooves and lips that have already formed as rotor surfaces wear. Instead of the pad squealing as it rubs along the lip edges, it will quietly and evenly press against the part of the rotor where it will have the most effect.
